I spent Woman’s Day 2017 with the amazing Van Badham - feminist writer extraordinaire - so I feel more than the usual pressure to deliver on this first blog post. In reality I’m too tired to write properly after midnight but after the success of our mini social media release I think I’ll just have to suck it up.
Late on IWD 2017, after getting home from Sydney, I posted the very first information about our idea to Facebook. It was this photo. Me, James and Cherry and out prototype box. The photo doesn’t show how many of the box samples poor James cut out and folded until we were all happy, but it certainly represented an end point of several months of work.
We have a long long way to go, but I cannot tell you what a joy it was to wake this morning and fell the FB love. Friends on and offline, women and men, responded with such enthusiasm. My best friend from 3rd Grade, who I haven’t actually seen in person for 32 years, messaged me from New York wanting me to sell to their co-op. Other friends and colleagues from NZ wanted to help support bringing it there. It filled me we the most stupendous hope that we might be able to great things with this. To everyone who bothered to like contact us.
Thanks. It means the world. x
